Wagering (sometimes called playthrough) is the amount you need to bet before bonus funds turn into withdrawable cash. Since 19 January 2026, UK-licensed casinos can’t set bonus wagering above 10x, and every Betmica offer we checked sits at that cap or below it. That makes the maths far friendlier than it used to be, but there are still rules on games, stake sizes and time limits that catch people out. This guide covers all of them.
The 10x UK cap and what it applies to
Betmica’s wagering is calculated on the bonus amount only, not your deposit plus bonus. Here’s how each offer is set up:

Worked examples in £
The formula is simple: bonus × 10 = amount to wager.
Example 1: a £50 first deposit
- Deposit £50, receive a £50 bonus.
- Wagering: £50 × 10 = £500.
- At £1 a spin on slots (100% contribution), that’s about 500 spins.
Example 2: the maximum welcome bonus
- Deposit £500, receive a £500 bonus.
- Wagering: £500 × 10 = £5,000.
- At £2 a spin that’s 2,500 spins across 30 days, or roughly 84 spins a day. Plan whether that suits you before depositing the full amount.
Example 3: a Wednesday Thunder Wallet Boost
- Deposit £80 with PayPal, receive a 25% bonus of £20.
- Wagering: £20 × 10 = £200, within 7 days.
Example 4: the same bonus on live casino
- £50 bonus, so £500 needs to count towards wagering.
- Live casino counts 10%, so each £10 bet clears £1.
- You’d need £5,000 of live casino bets to finish, ten times more than on slots.
Tip
In our experience, a smaller bonus you can comfortably clear beats a large one you abandon on day 29. You don’t have to deposit £500 just because the bonus goes that high.
Game contribution table
Not every pound you bet counts in full. Betmica weights games like this:

The £5 max bet and UK stake limits
While a Betmica bonus is active, the maximum bet is £5 per spin or hand. On slots, the UK’s own limits apply on top:
- £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over.
- £2 per spin for players aged 18–24, which is lower than the bonus max bet and takes priority.
- Minimum spin speed of 2.5 seconds, with no autoplay and no turbo mode.
These rules mean you can’t race through wagering with fast, high-stake spins, which is the point. Feature or bonus buys aren’t available to UK players either, so every spin is a standard base-game spin.
The 30-day window and what forfeits a bonus
The welcome bonus and its free spin winnings must be wagered within 30 days. The Thunder Wallet Boost has just 7 days. Anything not completed by then is removed.
Common ways to lose a Betmica bonus:
- Withdrawing before wagering is complete. Betmica forfeits the bonus funds if you request a withdrawal early.
- Letting the time limit run out. Unfinished bonus balance expires at the deadline.
- Betting above £5 while the bonus is active, which breaks the bonus terms.
- Playing excluded games and expecting progress. Jackpot slots count 0%, so the bonus can expire even though you were playing.
- Suspected bonus abuse, such as a duplicate account, which can also lead to an account block. See account blocked.

How free spin winnings work
The 100 welcome Free Spins on Book of Ra Deluxe are worth £0.10 each and arrive as 20 per day for 5 days. Whatever they win is credited as bonus funds with 10x wagering.
Say your first 20 spins win £6. You’d need to wager £60 (10 × £6) on eligible games for that £6 to become cash. Repeat for each day’s batch.

Wager-free cashback versus bonus money
Hermes Cashback returns 10% of weekly net casino losses, up to £200, every Monday by 12:00. Because it’s wager-free, it lands as real money:
- You can withdraw it straight away, subject to the usual £10 minimum withdrawal.
- No contribution rules, max bet or expiry windows apply.
- It doesn’t stack wagering on top of any active bonus.

How to track your wagering progress
- Log in and open your account menu.
- Go to the bonus section, where each active bonus shows its balance, the amount wagered so far and the deadline.
- Check the remaining amount before every session and note the expiry date.
- Once the bar reaches 100%, the bonus converts to cash and you can request a withdrawal.
